As with all types of braces, the first step to a beautiful smile is scheduling a free Invisalign® and 3M Clarity™ clear aligner consultation. Dr. Knapp will review your personal diagnostic information and make sure these clear aligner systems are right for you. Once approved a 3D digital scan will be taken of your teeth to create your custom-made aligners. Each aligner is worn for one week and during that week the aligner slowly applies pressure, moving the teeth to the perfect position.

The total number of aligners can range from 10 to 70, which equates to a total time in treatment of 4 to 18 months. The big difference in treatment times is because each patient is starting from a different spot and has different needs. Most patients are in treatment for around 6-10 months.

Invisalign® and 3M Clarity™ clear aligners are less noticeable than metal or ceramic braces. From a few feet away someone won’t even know you are in the process of straightening your teeth. This is great for someone looking to achieve their perfect smile without drawing much attention. Most people report that Invisalign® and 3M Clarity™ clear aligners are more physically comfortable to wear because the aligners do not have wires or brackets that can irritate your lips or cheeks. The aligners can also be removed while eating or brushing your teeth. So you don’t have to worry about staying away from hard, crunchy foods and your morning and nightly oral hygiene routine stays the same.
