Dr. Kevin Knapp
Dr. Knapp grew up in Kalamazoo, MI, where he attended Kalamazoo Central High School. He continued his education at the University of Michigan where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering, and then his Dental Degree. Dr. Knapp completed his specialty training at Seton Hill University outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received his master’s degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Knapp is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Michigan Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and West Michigan District Dental Society. He is also President of the West Michigan Dental Foundation and sits on the Byron Center Chamber of Commerce board.
Dr. Knapp lives in Byron Center with his wife, Jenny, sons, Oliver & Louis and miniature dachshund, Frannie. Together, they enjoy biking the White Pine Trail, walking the beaches of West Michigan, and spending time with their families, who both live in Holland, MI.
Melissa
Melissa was born in North Carolina, but has lived in Zeeland for most of her life. She graduated from Holland Christian High School and went to Careerline Tech Center for dental hygiene. Melissa and her husband, Josh, live in Borculo, a tiny town of Zeeland along with their daughter Mabel, son, Harvey and two dogs. They love to go camping and travel to new places in their spare time.
Tara
Tara lives in Byron Center, Michigan, and loves making the most of what West Michigan has to offer! You’ll often find her spending time along the lakeshore, planning her next travel adventure, or checking out the newest Grand Rapids spots. Her experience and passion comes from growing community-driven businesses, and she’s all about making meaningful connections and collaborating creatively with the local community!
Shelby
Meet Shelby! She is from Hudsonville and is a proud graduate of the GRCC Dental Assisting Program. When she’s not creating beautiful smiles, you can find her spending summer weekends up north at Big Star Lake with her son and husband, Matt. Shelby loves adventure—traveling to new places and trying new restaurants with friends is her favorite thing to do when she’s not working or spending time with her family!
Amanda
Amanda was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and now lives in Grandville with her husband, Jerry. She has been involved with orthodontics for over 30 years and truly enjoys seeing the progression of new smiles come to life! Amanda has a daughter and three grandchildren! Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her family, golf, ride her motorcycle and take trips to new places. Her goal is to see all 50 states!
Dawn
Dawn grew up in Spring Arbor, Michigan and now lives near the lakeshore in West Michigan. She loves the mechanics of braces and always helping people feel better about their smiles! When she’s not at work, she loves to spend time in the U.P. with her husband, and two boys. Dawn also loves an amazing cup of coffee, being involved with her church community, refinishing furniture and reading!
Jamie
Jamie is a Byron Center native through and through—she’s been here to watch the town grow, and she’s grown right along with it! She graduated from the GRCC dental assisting program in 2015 and has been brightening smiles ever since. When she’s not at the office, you’ll find her spending quality time with friends and family—especially her adorable niece and nephews. Jamie is always up for an adventure and loves exploring new places whenever she gets the chance!
Alicia
Alicia lives in Hudsonville with her husband Mark and their three awesome kids! Alicia has a heart for helping others and is always ready to lend a hand (or a smile!). She loves all things outdoors—whether it’s camping, playing sports, or just soaking up some sunshine. When she’s not on the go, Alicia enjoys baking and diving into a good book.
Kristin
Kristin grew up in Caledonia and graduated from the GRCC dental hygiene program in 2004. She practiced dental hygiene in Grandville for about 8 years before moving to California. She and her family have since moved back to Michigan and live in Byron Center. Her three kids all attend Byron Center Public Schools. Her family also has an aussiedoodle named Chewie. As a family, they love to travel and spend summers up at their sailboat in Ludington. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, reading, hiking, sup, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, and many other outdoor activities with her family.
Amber
Amber is from Decatur, Georgia and now lives in Grand Rapids. She graduated from Southern Crescent Technical School in 2010 for Dental Assisting, and has a passion for orthodontics and the patient relationships that are built throughout the orthodontic process. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband, Dave and friends exploring the city and visiting the beautiful sceneries of Michigan. She loves traveling to wherever she can get her toes in the sand.
Jenny
Jenny is from Holland, Michigan, where she also attended Hope College. After graduating, she continued her education and became a certified Child Life Specialist and worked with children and families in local hospitals. Jenny and her husband, Dr. Knapp and sons, Oliver and Louis, live in Byron Center. She enjoys baking, going for bike rides, and spending time with their 7 nieces and nephews and family.
Rachael
Rachael lives in Grandville and graduated from the GRCC dental assisting program. She loves orthodontics and getting to know the patients, along with seeing their confidence when treatment is completed. During the summer, you’ll find her at a different beach every chance she gets with her husband and two daughters. She loves reality TV and finding good restaurants around Grand Rapids. When Rachael gets the chance, she loves to travel and bake to pass the time in the winter.
Nicole
Nicole is from Zeeland, Michigan, and attended the GRCC dental assisting program. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, fishing, and skiing. She and her husband’s family go on a Colorado ski trip each year, and her favorite place to ski in Colorado is Keystone. She also loves spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephew. She recently got a golden retriever named Duke and absolutely adores him.
Madison
Madison is originally from Freeland, Michigan, and recently moved to West Michigan. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s in Science. When she’s not working, she loves spending time with her family at their lake house on Burt Lake in northern Michigan. Madison also enjoys hanging out with friends and exploring new spots in Grand Rapids. In her spare time, she likes to play golf, swim, craft, and travel. Having braces as a child transformed her teeth and gave her confidence in her smile, an experience she cherishes. Madison aims to create a positive environment for her patients, where they feel proud of their orthodontic journey and eager to share her positive experience with others.
Arriyah
Arriyah graduated from the dental assisting program in 2022 and has been passionate about helping patients achieve their best smiles ever since. She lives in Grandville with her boyfriend and their cat, Roo. In her free time, Arriyah enjoys traveling, paddleboarding, and expressing her creativity through art. Her favorite part of being a dental assistant is witnessing the transformation in patients’ confidence as they progress through their treatment.
Angie
Angie lives in Byron Center with her husband, Jerry, and their two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys going on hikes and bike rides with her family, exploring new parks and trails, and relaxing at their family cabin on Lake Superior. Angie loves staying active—whether it’s exercising, running, or simply spending time outdoors. She has a strong passion for helping others and values building meaningful connections within the community.
Olivia
Olivia graduated from the GRCC Dental Assisting Program and grew up in Grandville. She calls Grand Rapids home, where she lives with her fiancé (soon to be husband!) and their two cats, Kiwi and Rocky. When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her soaking up sunshine in the U.P., hitting the golf course, getting in a workout, diving into a new book, or enjoying quality time with her family and friends.
